Bikes on Metra Bill Advances

As of press time, the "Bikes on Metra" bill championed by Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn and sponsored by Rep. Marlow H. Colvin has passed the Illinois House Mass Transit Committee 20-0. To learn how you can help with the progress of the bill, go to www.biketraffic.org, or call Chicagoland Bicycle Federation at (312) 427-3325. House Bill 467 would require that Metra commuter rail division allow commuters to bring bicycles onto trains, at a minimum, during non-rush hours and weekends.
