DuPage County Observes Bike Day

What better way to show off bicycling and its benefits than to get an entire county to embrace bicycling for a day? Whether you ride a bike every day or haven’t yet dusted off the two-wheeler this summer, the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, the DuPage County Department of Economic Development and Planning and organizations throughout DuPage are encouraging residents to celebrate bicycling June 25 by taking a ride. Take a spin to the store, the library, on a trail, or simply down the block.

Bike riders will be rewarded with discounts from local merchants and can choose from more than 30 events taking place around the region, from a trail-opening to a children’s bike ride. This is an ideal opportunity for people to embrace bicycling as a form of transportation and see how it can change their lives.

Check out www.bikeday.org for a listing of all of the great events and discounts; and remember to check back as events are added frequently.
