To Work, To Eat, To Play
No limit to practical uses of bicycling

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
Mahatma Ghandi

Chicagoland bicyclists dream of a place where most people use bikes to get around. The shared desire for the safety and friendliness of such an environment is the driving force behind the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation. But it can only be accomplished if this movement literally gets moving – i.e. pushing the pedals.

Fortunately for Chicagoland, Ghandi’s imperative is not so daunting. Rather, with a little planning, it can be a blast. In focusing on CBF’s No. 10 Initiative for 2006, this issue looks at ways you can expand your bicycling experiences by integrating bicycling with other vital experiences, such as dining, entertainment, work, culture and spirituality.

Shopping is just one of an infinite variety of uses for which bicycles are suited. (photo: Chris Brunn)
