Sea of Bicyclists Fills Lake Shore Drive
Biggest Turnout in History of Bike The Drive

As the sun rises over Lake Michigan, a family (right) joins nearly 18,000 cyclists who poured onto Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive for the May 29th Bike The Drive, the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation’s biggest fundraising event. The expanded post-ride festival kept the fun rolling long after the drive shut down. In all, 9,000 bananas, 10,036 pancakes and 11,000 bagels were consumed at the most highly-attended ride in the four-year history of Bike The Drive. Can’t get enough of group-riding on Chicago streets? Check out the Boulevard Lakefront Tour Sept. 11. You can register at www.biketraffic.org/blt, or call (312) 427-3325.
