Answers Sought in Closure of Buckingham Crosswalk

A sign directs pedestrians and bicyclists away from the crosswalk that, until late June, connected Buckingham Fountain with the lakefront promenade known as Queen’s Landing. The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation is working with groups including the Grant Park Advisory Council to ascertain why the crosswalk was shut down. “We’re seriously disappointed that pedestrians have been given the short straw on accessing public space,” said Rob Sadowsky, CBF executive director.
