Bikes 7.5 miles to work.
“When I bike to work, I don’t have to set up extra
time to exercise, and I don’t have to buy gas. I use the Lakefront
Trail, which is connected directly to my office through the Lakeshore
East Development adjacent to the Lakefront bike path. I especially
like passing by the café on Oak Street, with the tropical
plants, on the beach – it’s very picturesque.”

Bikes to Tilden High School
“I was planning on getting a car, but the [Junior Ambassadors
Program] inspired me to start riding to school. The best part is
people seeing you. I feel like I am setting a positive example to
kids and people who don’t ride bikes. The attention is awesome.”

Bikes .7 miles to work.
“I feel so happy and light on my bike. It is a beautiful
way to both start and end my day. I have pinwheels and a big wicker
basket, so kids seem to get a kick seeing me on my single speed
women's Schwinn bike – with my bell and wide smile!”

Bikes 30 miles to work on nice days. In bad weather, drives to
the Des Plaines River and bikes the remaining 15 miles.
“Eighty percent of my commute is through the forest preserve,
with all kinds of deer and animals. It’s really relaxing and
a good way to start and end each day. In the city, it’s the
most bike-friendly big city. It’s amazing how effortless it
is to bike.”
