Donors are the Force Behind Good Biking
Creating a 'drive train' reaction

Donors are crucial to everything you are reading about in this issue.

In the same way that one rotation of the bicycle’s pedal crank turns the rear wheel by several multiples, a gift to the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation reaches cyclists all across Chicagoland. Donor investment in this wonderful machine creates a “drive train” reaction that brings regional bicycling advocacy to a higher gear.

If CBF donor dollars are say, the new Campagnolo high-torque pedal cranks of a wonderful machine, then CBF’s output–helping trail riders, timid cyclists, and low-income youth use bicycles more–are like extraordinary miles of achievements laid down with this collaborative drive train.

When you flash your member discount card at local shops, or check www.biketraffic.org for Lakefront Trail updates before your morning ride, you’re accessing the enormous power of 21 years of advocacy.

CBF is actively working to take bicycling conditions to a higher gear. Now we’re asking you to help strengthen a growing constituency of bicycle advocates with a donation. Help us take bicycling to a higher gear this year with a contribution to our annual appeal fund. Contact Arline Welty, Director of Development, at (312) 427-3325 ext. 237 or arline@biketraffic.org.
