Big Bucks. Big Challenge, Too
On August 10, President Bush stopped at our local Caterpillar plant
to sign the long-awaited six-year, transportation bill. If he had
ridden his bike there, he could have taken the Virgil Gilman trail
out of Aurora to Orchard Road. >>

Bikes vs. Cars? No Thanks!
We work hard here at the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation to fight

have been blaring sensationalism such as “Road Rage-The Bike
vs. Car Battle Flares Up!” — and it’s getting
on my nerves. >> More

Durbin's 'Conserve By Bike' Will Convert
Car Trips to Bike
There’s at least one good conservation program in the new

PROFILE: Aldermen Walter Burnett Jr. and
Ariel Reboyras
One of the advantages of bicycling in Chicago is the breadth of

Miles and Miles of Fun, Every Sunday
For the past several months, Chicagoland Bicycle Federation has
been working to build support for something we call Sunday Parkways.
Borrowed from programs in Latin America, the idea of Sunday Parkways
is to return the avenues to the community for a few hours every
Sunday, when a network of streets is closed to traffic - becoming
completely car-free. >>

Workshop a Step Toward Raising Southland
Quality of Life
The Cal Sag Channel Trail is best described as part of a solution
to quality of life issues on Chicago’s far Southeast Side
and inner-ring southern suburbs. The term "quality of life"
might be overused, but the Cal-Sag will improve people’s lives
where they live, right now.

Calling All Volunteers!
