Chicago Ghost Bikes is a grass-roots effort whose aim is to call attention to the need for safer streets by the quiet, powerful statement of ghost bicycle installations. Each time a biker is killed, a bicycle painted all white is locked to a street sign and a small stenciled plaque is bolted in place above it. Visit the Chicago Ghost Bikes page for more information.
