Dear Friend:
We are pleased to invite you to the first Southland-Calumet Area Healthy Streets & Trails workshop. We’ve packed our conference with expertise, innovative ideas and inspiration to help you improve bicycling and walking conditions in your community. It’s the premier educational and networking event for Southland and Northwest Indiana transportation professionals, public officials, and advocates.
You can expect to:
Learn about bicycling endeavors specific to the Southland and Northwest Indiana, such as trail-based economic development, Safe Routes to School, and current trail initiatives that cross the state line like the Cal-Sag Channel Trail, the Pennsy Greenway and the Marquette Greenway
Share cutting-edge ideas and tactics for low-cost bicycle planning, effective grant writing and on-street/off-street bikeway design
Engage your peers on the best ways to tackle the barriers to better bicycling and walking in your community
The workshop offers six sessions with three of the topics repeating in the afternoon, giving you the freedom to attend the sessions you want without having to choose between them. Lunch is included both days, and childcare is available for attendees. You’ll leave with a vision for your community that encourages bicycling, enhances local business and real estate, creates safer streets and trails, and improves quality of life.
Register today! We look forward to seeing you on September 16-17, 2005!
